Alcoholism

Many people are able to keep their drinking within the recommended limits of alcohol consumption, so their risk of alcohol-related health problems is low. However, for some, the amount of alcohol they drink could put them at risk of damaging their health.

Alcohol misuse is drinking more than the recommended limits of alcohol consumption.

There are three main types of alcohol misuse:

  • hazardous drinking: drinking over the recommended limits
  • harmful drinking: drinking over the recommended limits and experiencing alcohol-related health problems
  • dependent drinking: feeling unable to function without alcohol

Whether you find you drink because you feel addicted to the drink itself, or to the effects of the drink - there are always underlying causes for why you drink. Whether this is to consciously change the way you feel about past events or to cope in the present - there is always a reason behind this. Perhaps alcoholism runs in the family and you feel you have inherited the disease? Hypnotherapy can help change your thought patterns leading you to an alcohol free lifestyle.

How we can help

As most sufferers of alcoholism find, it affects your everyday life and prevents you from doing the things you would like, a course of hypnotherapy can benefit you greatly to tackle the issues. Depending on your situation we will offer you a course of suggestion therapy or hypnoanalysis. If we discover that there are bottled up emotions involved in your panic attacks, then the root issues can be tackled with hypnoanalysis. Some people can benefit directly with suggestion therapy (clinical hypnosis), but if we find the problems are more deep rooted from your past, then these are tackled with the hypnoanalysis.
